Recently, some of my friends have come together to help plan our 10 year high school reunion. It was great to see some familiar faces again. Anyway, while I was in college, I did a project on the evolution of the city of San Gabriel, where I grew up. In the four years that I was away in San Diego, I would come home every now and then to see changes being made everywhere, whether they were in my home, or in the city around us. One of the major developments in the city was the construction of the San Gabriel Hilton hotel. I took some pictures of that construction site, but the project that I took on was more significant to me in a sense that it demonstrated the changes in my old high school. The photos were shot in 2005. The Gabrielino High School I remembered was nothing like the new buildings you see today. We had classes in bungalows and a tiny gym where we played our basketball and volleyball games. I waned to document the transition period between old and new. Our reunion meeting reminded me of the project, and I think it would be cool to share some images with everyone here.
