If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I was out scouting Beverly Hills for locations last week. In fact, I've been in Beverly Hills quite a bit over the past few weeks, for the Golden Globe Awards, and of course for scouting locations for the wedding of Erica and Josh. The Golden Globes were held at the Beverly Hilton, which is also the same hotel where these two will be getting married in August this year. Chanda and I were out and about on Rodeo Drive a few weeks ago and now we can check that one off our bucket lists.
After spending a few days in Mobile Alabama photographing players for the NFL at the Senior Bowl practices, I flew back home and immediately got ready for this engagement session. I met Josh through the Los Angeles Lakers while he was a member of the public relations team. I never would have thought that he'd give me the call to photograph his wedding, especially now that he's moved on to even bigger and better things in his professional career.
I met Erica a few months ago during our first meeting, and I can't say enough about what a sweetheart she is. She and Chanda started showing each other photos of their dogs, and we began talking about how awesome it would be to include their dog, Jack in the engagement photos. Although we had just recently been introduced, she has always been a familiar face to this Lakers fan, and it didn't take me long to realize that I had seen her before on the sideline at games as a Laker Girl. Now currently a sideline reporter for the D-Fenders and Time Warner Cable sports, Erica was also once a member of the Denver Broncos cheerleading squad. I think I can guess which team she will be rooting for in Super Bowl XLVIII.
When we met them on Friday for the engagement session, Jack immediately stole the show. We spent a few minutes chatting about Jack and how cute he was. Luckily for me, Jack was a natural and was really good with directions and posing, which made things very easy. At times Chanda would just go wander off with Jack on a leash as I photographed Erica and Josh. If only every engagement session could involve a well-behaved furry friend. We started at Will Rogers memorial park in Beverly Hills, and hung out for a bit before moving over to Rodeo Drive and the shops. Erica and Josh were awesome to hang out with for a few hours, and I'm looking forward to photographing their wedding in August. I hope they can somehow keep Jack involved in the festivities. Can't wait! Enjoy the pics!
